When seeking a standardised solution for testbed federation, SUNRISE-6G selected the GSMA Operator Platform as the most suitable and industry-friendly approach, enabling not only alignment with commercial operators'\u2019 platforms but also providing developer APIs to application developers, SMEs, and verticals that are expected to interact with the SUNRISE-6G facility. However, there was no open-source implementation of the GSMA Operator Platform; this critical standard was only implemented by vendors, limiting its applicability in EU research and stifling innovation. SUNRISE-6G addressed this significant gap by implementing as a new open source project and adopting the Operator Platform as a comprehensive framework. \nThe latter serves as a unified platform that enables the exposure of testbed resources and the dynamic establishment of federations across testbeds. Moreover, its application-facing CAMARA APIs expose 3GPP network capabilities to application developers in a simplified way (e.g., abstracting the complex NEF APIs). SUNRISE-6G also leverages the work done by the GSMA Operator Platform Group (OPG) on an East\/West Bound Interface (E\/WBI) and the Application Artefacts Management & Onboarding Services. The latter are implemented for the sharing and cross-domain deployment of application images and as-sociated application components among federated facilities. \nFinally, as part of the Open Operator Platform, SUNRISE-6G implemented a comprehensive set of Transformation Functions (TFs), as introduced by GSMA OPG standards to translate CAMARA API calls into platform-specific APIs. SUNRISE-6G implemented multiple such TFs, to integrate all testbed 5G Core Networks, Edge\/Cloud platforms and O-RAN stacks. These are also released as an Open source SDK.","references":"D3.1 (is BSCW) describes the implementation of the Operator Platform and Open SDK of TFs.
