Using the developed RIS prototypes, TERRAMETA successfully executed an industrial robot PoC at European Microwave Week (EuMW) 2024. This demonstration showcased a D-band THz link sustaining 1.3-1.7 Gbps application-level throughput (with peak throughput up to 5 Gbps) with sub-millisecond latency (?1 ms), transmitting high-resolution 3D sensor data from a mobile robot to an edge server reliably. Crucially, the PoC incorporated an active RIS repeater system to successfully maintain the link in a simulated Non-Line-of-Sight (NLOS) scenario within a congested real-world exhibition environment.
