TeraGreen is expected to reduce the power consumption by a factor of at least 1000 in terms of energy per bit, while increasing the aggregated data rates by a factor of at least 10.\nWe have demonstrated the capabilities of the TeraGreen links by establishing the link budget model, including various critical aspects such as THz link propagation characteristics, use cases, the baseband algorithms, quasi-optical antennas, and THz SiGe transceivers. Our studies indicate that leveraging 1-bit quantization and zero-crossing modulation can establish an energy-efficient wireless link with a capacity exceeding 200 Gbps. The implementation of lens-based quasi-optical antennas in the near field shows potential in addressing the considerable free space path loss in the H-band. Furthermore, the simulation of SiGe H-band circuits promise to enhance the SNR necessary for extremely high data rate links. The estimated link budget model suggests the feasibility of providing a THz wireless link with a capacity exceeding 200 Gbps for medium range links (100 to 500 meters), and the capacity can be further extended to achieve even higher data rates by employing MIMO technology.","references":"TeraGreen Deliverable 2.1: Report on Link Budget Model","category":"CAT-1: Significant Technology Development","sub_categories":"High-frequency Technologies;Hardware;Energy Efficiency Technology;","call":"Call 2"},"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/wp.eurestools.eu\/de\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/key_achievement\/27878","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/wp.eurestools.eu\/de\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/key_achievement"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/wp.eurestools.eu\/de\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/key_achievement"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/wp.eurestools.eu\/de\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=27878"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
