This framework goes far beyond conventional energy efficiency concerns, embracing sustainability in a broad and integrated sense. It is built on four core principles:?Sustainable by Design,?Sustainable by Implementation,?Sustainable by Usage, and?Sustainable Disposal. These principles were applied throughout the development of the proposed IoT concept, resulting in a single, flexible, and adaptive solution capable of operating across diverse scenarios, requirements, and dynamic conditions. A key aspect of this approach is the sustainable implementation of IoT devices using printed electronics technologies. Components such as photovoltaic cells, supercapacitors, and thin-film transistors'\u2014custom-designed for the project'\u2014were developed and integrated into the IoT nodes. This innovation points toward a future of fully printed, sticker-like, batteryless IoT devices. Such devices embody the SUPERIOT vision: truly sustainable, low-cost, and environmentally friendly.
